three zero

three zero is a new multimedia solo piece by writer and performer Marcus Reeves, weaving together songs, poetry and video in a montage of material from the last ten years of his writing and performances.

A portrait of an artist’s relationship with his work, the show is an intimate and autobiographical tale of love, loss and loneliness, charting the highs and lows of life ‘in the business’ and the fear and celebration associated with turning thirty.

‘A story of boys and bands and beer,
of playing it straight and laying it queer.
Of mother and father, villain and hero,
of starting at one and approaching three zero…’

three zero features video design by Finn Ross (Barbican, Old Vic, Complicité, National Theatre of Scotland) and was first performed at Bistrotheque as part of their ‘Under Construction’ series, curated by Lisa Lee (Lipsinkers, Night of a Thousand Jay Astons, Strange Hill).
